Barbizon School

Barbizon School
Situated near the Fontainebleau forest, outside of Paris, Barbizon was a favorite gathering place of landscape painters during the mid-19th century. The style of these painters of the Barbizon School was derived especially from that of camille corot and gustave courbet and played an important role in the development of impressionism.
